“The Witcher”, the title per se is intriguing and draws various audience to watch the show. Either you have read the book or played the game itself is always a debate whether you enjoy the show or not. Unfortunately, I neither read nor played anything from the series. I still enjoy it, however I question whether some content was cut out from the show, the lore for example is really confusing for me and the show doesn’t appear to elaborate on it further, the “law of surprise” is one such example, a newbie like me would need to scourge the internet to understand it.

What makes this show even more perplexing is how the show jumps back and forth between the timelines. Whether this is based on the book is beyond me, but the whole execution is terrible not to mention most of the cast look and dress the same way they are in the present.

If you’re planning to watch “The Witcher” in Netflix just for sake of Cavill, I endorse this, Cavill portrayal as Geralt is what’s best about the show. Other than that, maybe hold your horses for the second season because your scalp may bleed from all the scratching due to the jumbled plot.

Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia

Anya Chalotra as Yennefer

Freya Allan as Ciri

Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe

MyAnna Buring as Tissaia

Joey Batey as Jaskier
