Chhaapak is a movie based on a real story of acid attack survivor; Lakshmi Aggarwal and Deepika Padukone are carrying her character in this movie with a different name which is Malti. It has come to my attention that this movie produced quite an uproar in India due to the message it carried. However, disregarding that matter, I have to admit that this movie is brave and gives out quite a powerful message in not only against crime but also women empowerment.
I agree with some of the audience review that specifying upon the movie length being outstretched. I think that the movie can be compressed into a compact story plot as some of the scenes are filled with superfluous details.
Regarding Deepika Padukone acting, in my opinion, it is sufficient but not satisfying. Somehow, I don’t know why but I think she could bring more to the table. Even so, she still manages to bring the emotion to the audience.
